It seems you have started your trip unprepared. Do you have a Carnet?

Start reading this site and you will find a few more obstacles: you can't enter Burma or China, for example.

Iranian and Pakistani visas seem a bit of a lottery at the moment. Don't tell them you are travelling by bike or overland. Say you are flying in, if they ask. (Probably too late for Iran now...) You could try the Iranian consulate in Erzurum, but they don't have a good reputation. Try contacting YOUR embassy for help.

If all else fails you will have to fly your bike to Kathmandu, Bangkok or KL. Avoid flying or shipping to/from India.

Good luck.

to korea

hello there,

ok, you are on the way to Korea in Turkey now.

As Peter said, the visa situation is not easy and you cant cross Burma, and also China is very difficult. And you dont have a carnet for India. Maybe you can enter Iran without a carnet, but India without a carnet is a big problem.

To avoid the carnet and Burma and China, I see only one option. You have to change your route.

First option. You ride to the east of Turkey, you try to get your visa for Iran (people told me Trabson has an easy consulate to get a visa), than you try to enter Iran, than you go up into Central Asia. Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kirgisistan and than into Kasachstan ... up into Russia and around China to Vladivostok ... than by ferry to Korea. If you cant enter Iran you can go into Georgia and cross the Caspian Sea by ferry.

Second option. You ride back into Europe - Bulgaria, Rumania, Moldavia, Ukraine ... and than into Russia to Vladivostok and by ferry to Korea.

Its not easy but you can do it.

Greetings from Switzerland
Mika
