UK to Europe 1 or 2 weeks July/Aug

I'm looking for riding buddy's for one or two weeks away in Europe at the end of July / August.

No particular place in mind just some good riding, scenery & food. To old for camping now (only just turned 50 but my back likes a bed not the floor) so cheap B&B's for me.

Riding a Tiger 800 but prefer the tarmac so no off road adventures.

If you fancy a relaxed get away without any pressure (I'm not planning to put in huge mileages) and it sounds like your sort of thing then perhaps we can hook up and arrange something :thumbup1:

Hi,
... the idea appeals !
Im 54, live in Southampton, share your views in cheap B&B's and ride a Honda Transalp.
Where were you thinking of heading ? And are your dates fixed?
I'm generally free after the weekend of July 26th.
Cheers,
Russ.

I'll be in Europe between 16th - 23rd August. Most likely in the Alps or the Pyrenees area. Always happy to share a beer/chat.
Just PM me if you decide either of you guys are out that way.

Russ - I retired early and have too much time on my hands, I ride a Tiger 800 and have recently returned from Austria & the Alps. Had a fantastic time hence the reason for wanting to get away again.

No plans for destination and no fixed dates, I just thought if anyone else was interested we could come up with some sort of "Cunning Plan". Staying in Europe is good for insurance purposes, possibly down to southern France or Spain? But I'm open to ideas and suggestions, I've also thought about heading East to Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, so lots of possibilities. I don't like big cities and tourist destinations so tend to avoid those areas, I prefer less congestion and more open roads.

BeeBoy - Having recently done some of the Alps it's unlikely we would be heading that way but if we're near, you never know !!!

Wildman - Wherever you're heading have a great time, maybe we can hook up another time for some other trip.

I'm heading out on the afternoon of Friday, 25th July. My route is Waregem (B), Bad Wildungen (D), Goslar (D) 3 nights, Konigstein (D) 4 nights, Karlovy Vary (CZ) 2 nights, Wurzburg (D), Echternach (Lux) 2 nights and Bruay La Buissierre (F). I'm in hotels for the one night stops and camping for the longer stays but you could find a B&B nearby and we could meet up for a meal. You're welcome to tag along if you want.

Pyrenees

If you find yourself near Bergerac I can always find an excuse to ride the Pyrenees, if you wanted to meet up for coffee let me know.

Sounds like a similar story to mine - retiring early, boredom sets in if u are not careful. Your riding style is the same as mine. Unfortunatly "Tourider" will be leaving before Im free, but of course can keep in touch.
Destination not important, but would prefer to miss out Spain - done it many times. Anywhere East of France would be good, and new for me, and I have always wanted to ride the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
Fancy meeting for a beer one day somewhere between Hampshire & Kent ? Mull over options.
Russ.

Sezien wrote "Thanks for the kind offer of sharing your holiday with me. I've considered your offer and decided to not to take it any further but thanks anyway."
Oh, actually perhaps Sezian would have written this if he had any manners.

Tourider - I'm still looking at your route and making plans for which direction I will be heading and when I will be leaving, I didn't realise you wanted to know if I would be joining you straight away, my apologies :oops2:

Free from 23rd to 30th Aug

Hi, I'm unfortunetly still nose to the grindstone a fair bit. However I do have a week off at the end of August, may be able to stretch it to 10-12 days. No plans yet but would like to join others for a rideout around europe. Not fussed where but agree cheap b&b beats camping!
Please feel free to contact me, and I'll keep an eye on this thread as well.
Thanks.
Andy
