hello
it may be a little early but you never know ,i will keep your email , i have to visit a few more people and get my bike sorted a bit more ,i think i will hit germany at the end of the month or early june ,which way are you headed first ,would definately like to catch up around turkey as i think some of the other countries may be better with two bikes |
Hi Broesel, hey canoeguy,
I am trying to leave a bit earlier. But it wont be before 1st of June. Trying to catch the ferry Ancona to Cesme (Turkey) on 4th of June. Do you already have your Visa for Iran? Did you tried to get a Tourist Visa? I failed with my Reference-Number, and know it seems that I only get a transit-Visa for 5 days. Would be nice, and a good idea, to ride partly together. There is a nice "Meetingpoint" in Dogubayazit (Turkey), next to the Iranien border.. Greetings |
Hey canoeguy and helmut,
I will hit the road this weekend and after a few stops I will probably cross into Poland first, that might be already next week and then straight south-east. If you, Helmut catch a ferry around the 4th of June, I think we should team up in Turkey and who knows, maybe canoeguy can make it too. That would be awsome. No, I don´t have a visa yet for Iran. I contacted key2persia, but I am still waiting for a reply. If that doesn´t work, I will pick up a transit visa in Turkey(hopefully). Gotta go, keep in touch and good luck, ... I will be there. Christian |
Hi Broesel, you can contact me directly with the mail button. So it might be easier to keep in touch. I am on the way with laptop for emails. See you in Turkey.., and good luck for the Iran Visa!

What a pitty!! Cause Ý dont wanna stay any longer in Turkey. When do you want to cross the border? I thought the right time for me will be first or second of July. Would be great if we can do together! When wýll you be in Dogoubayazit? Please, send to my email adress above. Lots of greetings Helmut |

I am in Teheran at the moment. Have an extension of 10 days now and will leave to Esfahan tomorrow morning. Anyone around?
|
i have gone through the process of extension of the transit visa in iran - not fun -
hey helmut, I made it to Oman and work already, hard to get spare parts for my bike, even here, take care PS: if you have tea at the main bridge in esfahan it won't take longer than five minutes to find iranian people, that speak english. you will probably meet a weired guy that will tell you weired stories about him working for the police, spies and male/female relationships in iran, say hello from me, if you see him |
Say hi from me too, he's apparently an ex cop turned poet. I gave him a book of short stories by Rabindranath Tagore. Small world.
