JC, I love your Blog! A clean and very special design, reduced informations - but the inportant stuff is there.

And a yes, it is the bigger adventure on a bike, than on an 4x4. We had rain in Congo too and a lot of fun while wheeling - but you really had hard work compared to us

Hope you will add more pictures to the blog, soon you have better internet.

Heading through France now bound for southern Spain, crossing to Morocco on 27th or 28th Jan, then Rabat for some visas, then south towards Senegal etc. Really hoping to cross paths with some of you guys... (and thanks to JC for kicking off this thread!!)

Hi Charlie,

I'm sure we will. I am in Casablanca now waiting for a new gearbox (campsite Ocean Blue). Hope to be on the road again some time next week, heading south.

Travel safe,

Gee

Heading into Spain after 700km of French rain yesterday!
Gee... if there's anything I can pick up for you on my way, I'll bring it to Casablanca. Let me know.

Hi JC,

Here's some recent info (last weeks) of a Belgian couple traveling south:

There seems to be only one 'campsite', sunugal plage. 5.000, not cheap, but 24 security, clean toilets and free wifi (when it works..).
They got their Conakry Visa in Dakar (easy, in an hour), and their Bissau visa in ziguinchor (even easier, in 10 min!).

See you soon, and happy trails,

Gee

Collected the Mauritania visa in Rabat today and will head for Casablanca tomorrow... short distance but need to do some work on the machine before the good roads run out.
Gee - will look out for your fine Defender, JC - our paths will cross!

I'm on a KTM990... but it's raining hard in Rabat right now and I'd prefer to be "in" something rather than "on" it!! Leaving for Casablanca within the hour.

Hi Charlie,

You'll be near Casa by now. My Defender is in the garage, and I'm in one of the bungalows, nr B7. Will look out for you!

Cheers,

Gee

Hi Gee, hope you get the Landy running again soon, do you need anything from London before I leave on Friday ?
Charlie I was hoping to leave the rain behind when I leave London but oh well, lol, I am on a Aprilia Caponord so will be getting wet as well.
Chat soon

limitablesnake 31 Jan 2014 19:56

JC... sounds like you're making good progress. I had a great time with Gee in Casa two days back and am now in Tan-Tan, heading south at a leisurely pace tomorrow.
This pm, it rained on me again, and I could have sworn I was in a desert!! Charlie
