Great minds think alike hey Sinky, I've been in touch with Bing at Navo as well and he said there was already a group of three looking at August, so I guess that would be you? Getting the number of people up certainly helps get the price down. Have you seen any reports on Navo, any ideas if they're a good company?
Also been in touch with China Overland and Newland travel but haven't really talked money yet just made contact.

Hi buddy,

Please clarify the rule for crossing CHINA, that states "5 persons of the same nationality have to travel together". I was told this by my agent which is why I dropped the idea going thro CHINA apart from the unrealistic costs.

If you get a clarification on this please do post it too.

Hi Sinky, yeah be keen to share a guide, that's possibly 4 of us for the kkh.
I'm not sure at this stage what dates for Burma. I hope to take my time and travel slowly but with a maximum 3 month visa in India maybe looking at Burma as early as January...unless I can do a couple of months in Nepal and Sri Lanka first.. still got a bit of research to do.. When are you looking at entering Burma?

Hi Benmac,

When you do come to India give me a shout for any logistic or help. I stay here and would be happy to help.

Shiv, a KTM 390 is a better choice.

I'm almost certain that isn't the case, irrespective of nationality having more people in the group just makes it easier, no tour company I've contacted have mentioned a minimum group size.

Hi los Juana's regarding navo have read afew posts and they seem to reply to any enquiries ,have not been told of nationality rule ,ie 5 people . Have told Bing I have been in contact with u and others .keep in touch. Sinky

I think we should move the discussion of getting a group together to cross China last summer early autumn over to a new thread so this thread can be kept as a list of trips heading east.

I have made a new thread here

China Guid Share - KKH - Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan August / September / October 2015

I was under the impression that the requirement for everyone to be the same nationally was for Tibet only, but my information is about 6 years out of date.

Hi Kayjay, nice to meet u on HUBB, I came from China. Refers to the rules you mentioned, "5 persons of the same nationality have to travel together", i'm sorry to hear that and you give up China part by this reason.

Hope my info is making sense for all friends:
1. For China, in principle there is no such rules. You can travel even just 1 PAX and there is no requirements on same nationality.

2. Some autonomous area sometime may have their requirements like Tibet. For this rule in Tibet, it happened before but it's not a absolute rules. Normally the policy of Tibet is not very fixed and we would update each March-April.

For more discussion welcome to write to me, by my HUBB email or abby.zhang@navo-tour.com.

Sincerely hope more guests visit and explore in our vast China and won't be trapped by government rules.
:welcome:
