Fabricate foot pegs, centerstand and bar risers

Dear Fellow Cheapos!
I want to make footpegs, centerstand and bar risers for my KLR 650A. I have not done much research into it yet. Has anyone fabricated their own? I'm not wanting to spend $500 for something i can make myself. I work on a ship so we have a pretty good machine shop (TIG, ARC, lather and plenty of SS but no mill). Unfortantely i'm stuck on this ship for the next 3 months so i cant go out to the garage and take measurements. I'll have to get it right the first time
I want to make footpegs similar to the Moose Hybrid with springs. I saw their dimmensions are 57x90mm. Is this pretty standard? How bout bolt size? m10s?
Centerstand: How do I bolt it on? To the wishbone? Will i need longer bolts? Dimensions?
Bar Risers: I'm thinking one inch. Obviously this would be easy with a milling machine but all i got is a lathe and drill press. So can i take a piece of steel and drill it out then cut it in half? If so how big should the hole be to fit my stock bars? Do the bolt holes need to be tapped? How big/long bolts are the stock?

I'd appreciate any detailed instructions from thumpers with experience.
Thank y'all!!

Making stuff can cost a lot more than you think. But it depends on what..

Sometimes it's cheaper to buy what is being mass-produced in China or Eastern Europe. That will be true for the risers for certain. They're dam cheap on ebay.

Your best bet would be to just copy a design from something which is built simply already.

Making stuff from mild steel is by far the easiest and most forgiving material. Just enamel paint it.

Personally; if I didn't have the bike in front of me, I wouldn't even consider making something for it. You need to constantly test against it.

Good luck.

Well the thing is...i'm getting paid to make them and material is free on the ship. i'll go with mild steel.
I'm thinkin of makin the centerstand a bit wide and add washers if i need to. But where does the centerstand normally bolt onto a KLR? I'm assuming the frame. Maybe the wishbones or lower shock mount?
