Iveco 40-10's for sale

3 Attachment(s)
Thought some of you guys might be interested in some Iveco 40-10's that will be coming up for sale.

There are 3 of them, based in Inverness, Scotland. 2 are running fine, 1 is for spare parts only. Registrations are H228AHS and H229AHS (can't remember the third one!)

228 has 42,000km on the clock 229 is less but don't have the figure. They are ex Scottish Ambulance Service vehicles, donated a few years ago to the British Red Cross and have been used as Mass Casualty/ general logistics vehicles.

Alas despite me spending a lot opf my own time and effort to keep mine on the road, they have decided to get rid of them all :( which I am devastated about, however I know some of you guys would give them a good home.

They would be de-liveried before sale (blue lights, battenbergs etc.) and if no-one buys them they will just go for scrap.

228 and 229 drive fine, I've been driving 228 for last few years, 228 won't go into second if vehicle moving, 3 tyres are under a year old and it has a new plastic tank. 229 has recently had its exhaust replaced and a new fuel tank I believe. 228 has been down to Cockermouth to assist at the flooding 2 years ago as well as helping keep a highland hospital open during the bad weather last year.

Let me know if you are interested and I can pass on contact details with the man doing the disposals.

cheers, Ray

Go for it Graeme....

They would make fine overlanders - pop top roof in the body and a door in the side instead of the roller shutter, leave the rear roller shutter as a spare wheel storage come utilities area

Remember folks - these have rear diff locks as standard - easy to get 7.50/16 tyres (or 8.25/16 or 900x16 to go tall)

Have advertised this to the iveco 4x4 yahoo group too

Oh and the gearbox is the same as the standard 35-10 from the 90's i believe, which are easy to get at breakers or ebay it just needs a different rear end :innocent:

Which you could take off the faulty box

Nothing! that's the really, REALLY annoying thing. I even offered to pay the running costs of my one for the next year. :confused1::confused1:

somethings stagger the imagination...the point of vehicles like these is that they may only be needed a few times a year, but theyre always ready and AVAILABLE. I remember when Fylde council got rid of all their snow plough 'enabled' wagons (front mounts with hydraulics)...two years later they had to 'buy-in' trucks from the private sector at a daily rate that was three times the cost of plough gear for two trucks!!!!:nono:

...oh yes...and we've just had electric (YEDL/CE) on the field....four landrovers, two 4x4 chevvies, four transits (all 4x2) a renault kangoo and a big 4x4 110 Iveco, one of the guys saw my ivie in the barn, an old yorkshire electric 4x4 and mourned their passing, he said if they (YEDL) had still had them it would have only taken two, one workshop truck, one tele-hoist...now they dont 'own' any vehicles, their all leased....we had to pull all the transits out!!!!

Alas it would appear that all three have now been or are in the final process of being sold.
