Iveco 40-10's for sale

3 Attachment(s)
Thought some of you guys might be interested in some Iveco 40-10's that will be coming up for sale.

There are 3 of them, based in Inverness, Scotland. 2 are running fine, 1 is for spare parts only. Registrations are H228AHS and H229AHS (can't remember the third one!)

228 has 42,000km on the clock 229 is less but don't have the figure. They are ex Scottish Ambulance Service vehicles, donated a few years ago to the British Red Cross and have been used as Mass Casualty/ general logistics vehicles.

Alas despite me spending a lot opf my own time and effort to keep mine on the road, they have decided to get rid of them all :( which I am devastated about, however I know some of you guys would give them a good home.

They would be de-liveried before sale (blue lights, battenbergs etc.) and if no-one buys them they will just go for scrap.

228 and 229 drive fine, I've been driving 228 for last few years, 228 won't go into second if vehicle moving, 3 tyres are under a year old and it has a new plastic tank. 229 has recently had its exhaust replaced and a new fuel tank I believe. 228 has been down to Cockermouth to assist at the flooding 2 years ago as well as helping keep a highland hospital open during the bad weather last year.

Let me know if you are interested and I can pass on contact details with the man doing the disposals.

cheers, Ray

Go for it Graeme....

They would make fine overlanders - pop top roof in the body and a door in the side instead of the roller shutter, leave the rear roller shutter as a spare wheel storage come utilities area

Remember folks - these have rear diff locks as standard - easy to get 7.50/16 tyres (or 8.25/16 or 900x16 to go tall)

Have advertised this to the iveco 4x4 yahoo group too

Oh and the gearbox is the same as the standard 35-10 from the 90's i believe, which are easy to get at breakers or ebay it just needs a different rear end :innocent:

Which you could take off the faulty box

Nothing! that's the really, REALLY annoying thing. I even offered to pay the running costs of my one for the next year. :confused1::confused1:

somethings stagger the imagination...the point of vehicles like these is that they may only be needed a few times a year, but theyre always ready and AVAILABLE. I remember when Fylde council got rid of all their snow plough 'enabled' wagons (front mounts with hydraulics)...two years later they had to 'buy-in' trucks from the private sector at a daily rate that was three times the cost of plough gear for two trucks!!!!:nono:

Porta 16 Sep 2011 22:21

...oh yes...and we've just had electric (YEDL/CE) on the field....four landrovers, two 4x4 chevvies, four transits (all 4x2) a renault kangoo and a big 4x4 110 Iveco, one of the guys saw my ivie in the barn, an old yorkshire electric 4x4 and mourned their passing, he said if they (YEDL) had still had them it would have only taken two, one workshop truck, one tele-hoist...now they dont 'own' any vehicles, their all leased....we had to pull all the transits out!!!!

Alas it would appear that all three have now been or are in the final process of being sold.

arealhighlander 14 Mar 2012 23:46

Good news, one of the deals has fallen through so I've been offered to buy my Iveco H228 AHS, so I need to find insurance for it now so I can get it out of their hands before they change their minds, any pointers at where to get some? I would rather a month by month policy as my plan would be to sell it on to a good home (and then donate the profits back to the Red Cross)

rclafton 15 Mar 2012 08:35

Adrian Flux ?

Anyway try the specialist brokers , not comparethemeerkat

I might know a man who will have it off you but he's in soth america at present , back later this year but very keen to patch p his exisitng truck for the next part of his adventres, i'll have to remind myself which truck that was i think i saved your photos

arealhighlander 15 Mar 2012 11:30

Thanks, Ill give them a go, Im having a bit of a problem with the description of the vehicle - or the model - as Im not exactly sure what this model is called. Its not a van, its more like a flatbed with a box on the back. Kind of reminds me of an Iveco version of a Tesco delivery van!

So I know its a 40.10 but is it a Daily 40.10, as this description doesn't seem to come up on the choices on the insurance sites.

cheers, Ray

Iveco's

Hi Ray

it should be described as an Iveco Daily 40.10 4x4 chassis cab with body (give description)

You could try NFU, have been good for me in the past, especially with modded or unusual vehicles.

Message me as I might know of a buyer - and they are part of the wider community aid groups.

iveco 40-10 4x4 chassis cab for sale

Hi guy's just a quick one i have my Iveco 40-10 4x4 chassis cab for sale now, she's very clean and tidy, ex Scottish ambulance service as per the ones in this post and has covered i believe a genuine 136,000kms from new, i was going to convert her to an overland camper but now my plans have changed, so she's up for sale, it comes complete with front winch and is taxed and tested ready to drive away, pretty sure she's military spec too as it has split rim wheels etc any questions pm me or call me on 07968 10 06 20 thanks

My daily 4x4 is coming up for sale soon. downrated to 3.5 ton. J reg. No rot at all, anywhere. surface rust only here and there. electic front dif lock on a timer, manual rear dif lock, pto with a hyd. pump fitted. split rims (don't like 'em really) freewheeling hubs, always, regardless of cost, maintained prior to storing it this last 2yrs., cab totaly solid and soundproofed (not silent but a comfortably throaty growl)run's on veg oil, kerro,(bosch pump) CLIMB'S WHAT YOU POINT IT AT! get the right gear, point it, take your foot of the accelerator and this truck knows what to do if you don't. Currently with an alley flat bed on. ONLY EVER CARRIED LETTUCE'S ,TISSUE PAPER AND SPIDERS WEBS but I'm told if you put 5 ton of scrap on it you can't tell it's carrying it. Everything works except the speedo. Rear brakes sticky from storage but I do run it and drive it arround my land every few months. Starts first revolution of engine every time, on any fuel, and no preheater aid. this truck has been my favorite toy. Bereavement and need of bigger truck makes me want to sell. Come and look, have a demo over rough ground, make a sensible bid. Lancaster uk area. This is a presentable working truck.
