Hey Scalpo
I only picked up my Turkmen visa which takes still a few hours (they make you fill out the application form again). I applied for the visa in my home country (Belgium) 4 weeks prior to picking it up... luckily i did that because I was the only one who was permitted exit via Konye-Urgench (so I could visit the crater)... |
So, I can't ask for the visa directly to Iran or turkey?!!!!!!
|
I believe you can (pretty sure), but give it also at least 3 weeks and if it's still like last year, you might not get the borders you asked for. But look these things up, I'm unsure why i did get and others didn't get Konye-Urgench...

I'm really angry!!!! Thanks to my travel agency I risk of not having transit for Turkmenistan!!!!!! :censored: :censored: :censored:

I told you obtaining Turkmenistan transit visa can be a problem sometimes... Did they offered you a tourist visa as a plan B? Other option can be contact Stantours: they are a well known agency which operates in the area and maybe they can give you good advice about how to obtain transit visa and where... |
Not yet!!! I'll try with stantours....thanks!!! The problem is that i'm starting :(
I'm waiting an answer from an UK travel agency!! Hope in luck :) |
Don't where you start, but I'm pretty sure if you have 3 weeks or more from now untill turkmenistan, that you can make it... applying on the road will work, worst case you don't get the borders you asked...
Worst Turkmen embassy I heard from is Azerbadjan (and Belgium isn't much better) but you'll find someone in an embassy who can help you.. If you pass by Belgium (Antwerp) more than welcome to spend some time here.. |
Thanks Antoni, but I start from Italy! When I'll come back you will be welcome here ;)
Intelservizi told me:" ther is no time!!! But we have some customers get transit visa in Ankara in 4-5 days....don't worry!!" :eek2: I just can hope so!!!!! |
Hi guys, now I'm in Uzbek. For Turkmenistan visa asked in Ankara Embassy and after 10 days arrived email with letter to print for transit visa. Payed 10 dollars in Turkey. At the border 55 dollars for visa and 80 dollars for all the tax (road, fuel and something else). Hope to be help!!!

Is there even a possibility to get into Turkmenistan with a visa for more than just tranist when you ride with your bike? I heard you need a guide to get a visa but how would that work if I travel with the bike?
For how many days are the transit visas? Cheers Xenia :scooter: |
G'day xt etc, I haven't read through the whole thread so forgive me if this is out of context of whatever,, but anyhow...
I applied for my Turkmenistan transit visa in Dushanbe, a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't ready when I was told to collect it (a week later), which pissed me off no end coz I was on my way to Uzbekistan. they said they'd send an email so I could get the visa at the border. Much to my surprise the email arrived 5 days later. So I'm expecting nothing but the usual border hassles when I cross in a couple of days. Transit visa is 5days. Apparently any other type is major hassle. Don't need guide. Personally I think 5 days is more than enough time to spend in Turkmenistan... |
Thanks for the answer! Well I think 5 days would be enough to see the main things (gate to hell and so on) and to cross the country.
