Adventure Overland Show 2013 - Stratford-upon-Avon, UK

The second annual Adventure Overland Show is taking place at Stratford Racecourse in Warwickshire from 28th to 29th September 2013.

The largest trade show of its kind in the UK, the event is aimed at people interested in 4x4, motorcycle and bicycle adventure travel. It features a vehicle display area for expedition trucks and all-wheel-drive campers, bushcraft and vehicle prep demos, and some presentations from veteran travellers.

I'll be there with a stand representing Horizons Unlimited and the HUBB UK event... stand X5 in the Adventure Bike Zone. Come along and say hello.

For full details and pricing, visit the Adventure Overland Show website.

Thanks for the plug Iain ... it's appreciated!

Although ADVENTURE OVERLAND (AO`13) is still predominantly a 4x4-based event, the same as HUBB UK is bike-based, both events are building to include 2 and 4 wheels. It makes perfect sense as there is a massive crossover between the two disciplines.

For instance, AO`13 features many attractions common no matter where you may roam ...

EXPEDITION FIRST AID DEMOS sponsored by ‘Training Expertise Ltd.’
(knowing what to do when confronted by injuries in extreme situations can quite literally be a ‘life-saver’)

NAVIGATION KNOWHOW sponsored by ‘Mountainrite’
(advice on mapping – electronic or otherwise)

BUSHCRAFT ACTIVITIES AREA sponsored by ‘Woodland Ways’
(everything from fire-lighting to preparing road kill for the pot)

SEMINAR SESSIONS ROOM athough it must be said - only a fraction compared with HUBB UK
(featuring guest speakers passing on their adventure travel experiences with bikes and 4x4 vehicles)

Whereas others do more lean more heavily towards 4 wheels ...

BUSH MECHANICS sponsored by ‘Bushmechanics.co.uk’
(learn the skills to keep your vehicle going when on the road, or more importantly - off it!)

CAMPER CONVERSION CORNER sponsored by ‘Auto Marine Improvement’(converting/building a campervan yourself? Then seek the advice of professionals and DIY enthusiasts)

OVERLAND PREP sponsored by ‘Nene Overland’
(hear from the experts about vehicle preparation for trips and expeditions)

VEHICLE DISPLAY AREA
(comprising expedition trucks & all-wheel-drive campers)

Any questions? I'll do my best to answer them.

What a dope!!! doh Forgot to even mention the three most important things relating to bikes! The newly introduced ...

ADVENTURE BIKE & CYCLE ZONE sponsored by the ‘Adventure Bike Shop’ Last year motorcycle traders requested they have a specialised area to call their own, well here it is.

Plus, to compliment the ADVENTURE BIKE & CYCLE ZONE is another new innovation ...

The reduced fee "2-Wheeler Weekend Pass" covering both day admission and camping, designed soley for bicycle and motorbike riders who arrive at the Stratford Racecourse venue on their steeds - bicycles, tandems, motorbikes, even trikes (okay, 3-wheelers as well). Now the entire weekend is just £25 (including a pillion passenger), that’s almost a third of the price of the standard booking fee!

Why? It's simple. As a bike and small tent takes up a whole lot less room than an expedition truck in the campsite, so the price is a whole lot less!

See what I mean!

Lastly, would your bike club like to attend AO`13? If so see the Club section on the event website at Home - Adventure Overland Show There is still room for even last-minute applications, so over to you!
