HUBB UK 2017, Baskerville Hall, June 15-18

We're very pleased to announce that HUBB UK is back from June 15-18, 2017 in our great new location - Baskerville Hall Hotel, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountain National Park!

"The best location to date, actually getting there was a pleasure itself."

In addition to great facilities, the venue supports rider training, off-road courses and lots of bush for ride-outs, and we will use it! Coach Ramey Stroud will be back, along with David Knight and Lee Walters!

Typical comments from 2016:

"Super mix of real world people with a common interest."
"Good location (by the Brecon Beacons National Park and Hay on Wye), good presenters, good events, good company, well organised."
"Thanks Grant & Susan for bringing it back to the UK, you worked tirelessly (as did your main crew), it was a fantastic event."
"Brilliant, entertaining and informative presentations."
"As always a fantastic forum to meet like minded people and learn stuff."

Registration is OPEN NOW with early bird rates until 30 September!

I’ll be there - I’m determined to do better in the slow bike race. :-)

Hi Susan. I'm going to do my best to attend this one and maybe book a plot for my business.

I noticed the exhibitors section is "closed" on the booking page.

When will these be available ?

Thanks, Ted

We really enjoyed this year's event. We were the club with the big trucks.

Unfortunately, the dates of next year's has clashed with Europe's biggest Overland event at Bad Kissingen in Germany, an event that our club members like to attend.

I have advertised this meeting within the club but already we are getting feedback that members are in a dilemma.

This is a great shame as it was a brilliant event

I am thinking about attending HUBB UK 2017. I will be coming from the US. Do you have a travel agency you can recommend? I would like to come in the week before and would even be willing to volunteer some of my time.

rachel_norfolk 31 Aug 2016 16:17

Oh you will have a fab time coming all the way from the US!

Are you planning to ride whilst you are here? Could be fun getting used to riding on our side of the road :-)

What is it you are wanting from a travel agency? There are so many places locally to book for accommodation I’m not sure I’d bother - just get on booking.com etc.

I'd tend to agree with doing it yourself via online agencies. For the event itself you want to be either booking a room in Baskerville Hall or heading for the campsite (like most of us) as staying anywhere else is a bit restricting. If you're coming a week or so beforehand and (for any reason) Baskerville is unavailable then you'll probably need to find somewhere in Hay-on-Wye (2 miles away) and Booking.com et al would be perfect for that. There's loads of places to stay in the town

Getting there from whatever airport you fly into (probably one of the London ones) might need a bit of thought. Baskerville / Hay aren't wonderfully served by public transport (to say the least). You can get close with a bit of thought - train to Hereford and a taxi / bus for the last 20 miles for example but if you have a bit of spare time the area is worth exploring with your own transport - a hire car for example. Driving on the left isn't that hard (!) but you probably wouldn't want to do it for the first time trying to get out of London.

Hi Susan I was wondering what time on Thursday do the festivities begin and is it possible to arrive the night before?
Thank you in advance beer

HUBB17 booked

I've booked and paid, can't wait. I will be trying to ensure Rachel doesn't do better in the slow race heehee. ( Rachel :scooter: Me :scooter: )

Last year was great fun and very inspiring to those of us who are new to this side of motorcycling.

Can someone pack the sunshine and bring it along please

Ben

I'm not sure what the official line is but this year I got to the campsite about 9.30pm on the Wednesday evening and I was nowhere near the first. My top tip (if you're camping) would be to arrive in the light so you don't put your tent up in a puddle doh
