Presenting
Hi Jens
I couldn't make it on Autumn. Hope you had a good time in Patagonia. Last year i rode across east and south of Europe approx 8000 Km around. I would like to present a slide show about the Balkans and my previous Indian & African rides. Looking forward to see u in May Prem |
Hi Jens,
since I am back in Germany and hzad some trouble with lost keys, corrupt policemen I would like to make workshop about "2nd set of keys, documents, important items and where to store them" Especially the last part is not less important than just having the stuff with you. A key inside the bike, that you can not access after the main one is lost will drive you mad and nuts, especially in a country where nobody speaks your language and neither English.... :( Also about carring cash money for emergency and how to split and hide it, the same for a spare credit card and sth. more... Looking forward to the meeting Alex |
Welcome again!
Hi guys out there, how are you?
Today it is sunny in my part of Germany, I just did a Little Loop on my Vespa - Great Feeling! Only 4 more months - not too Long - we will see each other soon! Please Register online - thank you. I you have any ideas for the Meeting, slide Shows, Workshops etc. Please contact me. I am flying to Cuba next week - nearly no Internet on the Island... I will be back end of february. Winter is too Long here - have to ride a bike somewhere... See you - Jens:scooter: |

Grant and Susan are coming to HU Deutschland!
Wir kommen an die HU Deutschland Sommertreffen! Wir hoffen, Sie dort zu sehen!
We're very pleased to tell you that Grant and Susan will be at the HU Germany summer meeting, and hope to catch up with old friends and see many of you there! Here's our spring/summer travel plans: We will be flying from Canada to France to attend the Touratech France Travel Event in Orange 23-25 May. We are borrowing a bike from Touratech and riding from France to Ober-Liebersbach for the HU Germany meeting 29 May-1 June. We will be in Niedereschach for the Touratech Germany Travel Event 13-15 June. We'll ride from Germany to the UK for HUBB UK 19-22 June. After that, plans are still uncertain, but we expect to be in Garmischfor the BMW Motorrad Days 4-6 July, before returning to Canada! We are very excited about it all, especially Grant since he has not ridden a bike for three years! :D Hope to see you somewhere in Europe... Grant & Susan |
Welcome Susan and Grant!
Hey guys,
that´s great to hear that you will make it to the HU Germany Meeting! All the people are asking always for you... Are you participating in the Offroad Training too? Should I organise a bike for you? If yes - please let me know... The training is just before the HU Germany Meeting: 27.5.-29.5.2014 Black Forest Area See you soon - Jens:D |
When I saw the dates in the just received e-newsletter, I was thrilled. We have a motorcycle (R1200GS) stored in Heidelberg and we are planning to be there on 5/27, so this HU gathering fits perfectly in our schedule as we begin the next phase of our European travels.
If there would be any interest in our sharing what it's like to do touring in this fashion (store a bike somewhere return to ride it multiple times), I would be glad to do a session. Perhaps this would be best suited to present people in the US or Canada at another event. |
Welcome to the Meeting!
Hello Timmer,
it would be great to see you at the Meeting! When you arrive - please talk to me, of course we can arrange a workshop about storing a motorcycle somewhere on planet earth. See you soon - Jens :welcome: |
HU Offroad Training... confirmed!
Hi guys out there,
our 1st OFFROAD TRAINING is confirmed, already 10 bikes registered - great! More information on the OFF ROAD TRAINING thread. See you there - don´t be shy! Jens:clap: |

Where are the Musicians???
Hi guys,
wonderful biking weather in Germany already... Only about 4 weeks to our next Meeting! Where are the Musicians? I will bring a guitar, if you need more things, please let me know... Maybe our perfect Flamenco Guitar player from from last Fall will show up again? It was really great to listen to his music at the fire during the night... See you soon - Jens:D |
Hi Jens,
would it be possible to join the event at arriving? I mean, I don´t know if I can make it over so I would decide it very late. Tabea |
Hi there,
Only 1 1/2 week to go for my first HU meeting, very excited! 2 questions: - I will be riding down from the Netherlands (from Deventer) on the 27th and 28th. Are there any fellow riders that want to join? I plan on camping somewhere the first night. - I subscribed for some volunteer tasks but so far I haven't received any further information from the organizers (Jens?). When can I expect this? Thanks and see you soon! |
I and my son hope to be there, last year we want's to go but we was ill.
This year i have a little time problem at work but we hope to be there for one or two days. |
Hi El Holandres,
i am riding to the HU on Thursday 29th and i am Starting in Germany next to Bonn. May be I am on your way? I would like to take the route along the rhine valley up to the south. Its a verry nice landscape with many castles! Here you find a part of the trip on a map: Middle Rhine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia For example, we can meat each other on Wednsday evening or Thursday Morning at the camping. The camping is on our way and verry close to the river (only a few meters from the campground). They offer a nice bear garden with some small meals too. look at: Campingplatz und Biergarten "Auf dem Salmenfang" in Rheinbreitbach am Rhein und Siebengebirge GPS 50.618093 (50° 37‘ 5.13‘‘ N) 7.215448 (7° 12‘ 55.61‘‘ E) Send You an PM. Regards, Motravel :-) |
Hi Motravel!
Would be very nice to ride together but my plans is to arrive on the 28th in Ober-Liebersbach, so I will be one day ahead of you. In any case many thanks for the suggestion to follow the Rhine, I think I will do just that and the campsite looks tempting as well. The beergarden makes a good argument to stay there! BTW you have a killer bike! See you at the meeting, El Holandes |
Thanks Motravel for the extra info you sent me! I will make good use of it.
Still havent received any info on the volunteering, I guess I'll just drive down there and see what's up. Cheers and see you soon! El Holandes |
Thank you to all volunteers

And if you forget your swimwear it's not a problem to book just the sauna area. No swimwear allowed in that bit.

Help needed
Hello from 2 Aussie Travellers (HU Members Queensland Australia), we are looking for some help if possible. We flew into Germany about 4 days ago and our two bikes were supposed to arrive tomorrow, but unfortunatley there was a problem with the banks and the Motorbikes will not arrive till possibly next Monday. If anyone has a spare tent and a blow up mattress we would be eternally grateful. All of our gear is in the crate at Thai Airways Bangkok.

Just came back from the meeting in Ober-Liebersbach. Thx you! (For the organisation, the presentations, the people around, the havana club, the knopers, the cool atmosphere ... and everything).
Keep smiling - keep travelling! @Curt Where are you? Where do you plan do go? Is your gear already there? |
Just arrived home, and looking through my photos I found this "cheap" shot of the organizer....

Thanks for all the hospitality and the chance to share about off pavement riding in Montana. A huge thanks to the fellow for the suggestion to ride Furka Pass in the Swiss Alps on our way to Albertville. We made it to Birg where a warm shower and pizza dinner were wonderful.
