There are hundreds of ways through the Alps to Slovenia. I'm probably heading down that way again in July and was thinking of taking 3 days to get there via Como. On the way back I was thinking of heading into the mountains for a play on some passes like San Boldo (I only want to see the tunnels with the traffic lights:) ) I'll play with my satnav programme, mapsource, and plan a nice run through a few passes.
The only problem doing this is, I keep getting sidetracked because there are so many places to visit. If it's your first time and your wife isn't used to bikes you could always try a shorter trip like the Vercors. take 2 days down then a couple of days playing then 2 days back. Check out Grenoble Cycling Pages - The Vercors and see the Vercors and Grand Goulets I see you're geting your bike on Saturday, If the strike is called off and you can get petrol, you could try a distance run on Sunday and see how your wife likes a few hundred miles on the back:) Quote:

Hi Bomber,Why not get the ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge and avoid going down through Englandshire? I live in the Highlands and have done it a few times (and the ferry!) and it's really great. A bit like a floating hotel I suppose. Look on the Superfast website for info.
