tubes for tubeless rims
 

just one thing to add - even if it is years late on this thread - you need inner tubes for 'tubeless' rims if you are carrying spares for tubeless tyres. The holes for valves are narrower on tubeless rims - that's why Wolf rims for Landys come in tubed or tubeless variants. You can get tubes with narrow valve stems easily enough from good tyre places - but the inner tubes from Vass or similar ex-military suppliers are for tubed rims - and won't fit modern tubeless ones...

any advıce on the followıng runnıng two pıce spıt rıms on ıveco 4x4 have new xzls mıchlın flaps and tubes. Semm to be havıng puntures just wher the edge of the fllap ends as ıf ıt ıs rbbıng \catchıng agaınst the tube.

wheel 1: fırst punture was 3000 km repaıred then puntured agaın at 8000km

wheel 2: fırst punture at 7000 km the puntured agaın 8500 km put thınk thıs may be due to them puttıng old tube ın despıte us seeıng new one bought.

2 types of flap seem to be appearıng one tyhat ıs just the wıdth of the wheel and one that tends to rıde up hıgher on the sıdes.

Is one better than the other?

3 out of 4 puntures have been at 80 km hour

I am ruunıng them at max pressure 75 psı all puntures appear to be on rear wher most of the weıght ıs but thınk I am ın the weıght lımıt.


would lıke to get thıs soughted before goıng through pakıstan or am I askıng to much and need to except I wıll get puntures. The km seem low for ınternal puntures. Rıms are pıtted but faırly cleen due to goıng over wıth rotary sandıng tool

They can be used tubeless and with tube. I use mine tubeless on a split rim and this way it is a breeze fixing them. You never have to dismount the rim only the tire. I have 14.00r20 I don't know if this is possible for a car. Small punctures are easy fixed with a system from rema sealfix I beleve. You just put a pug with vulcanising stuff in the hole and it is fixed! and for the bigger repairs you split the rim and take te tire off. This takes max. 15min. and put a outside tire patch in and mount the tire again. Be carefull tough never stand in front of the ring when putting air in. If the ring is not fixed properly it can burst off at any given pressure and you wouldn't be the first to get injured or killed by it!

I think you meant an inside patch, correct?
Also, for the larger sizes like your 14.00s or my 395s you need a truck sized plug inserter (basically a large sewing needle with a transverse metal handle), the car sized needles are too short for the tread thickness.

I mean an patch for the inside of an outside tyre :thumbup1: and indeed buy a set for a car if you have a car and for a truck if you have a truck
