Those Lowa boots are often used by soldiers who seek gucci (paid for) kit. They have a very good name. But for those of us on a tight budget, ex surplus army boots may be a better buy. Although not strictly a bike boot, they probably perform better than some boots marketed as bike boots.
British Army grade 1 boots for only £20. An excellent bargain for top notch military boots - British Military Surplus Designed for the Army in 1995 these things will protect your feet. If you bought the same thing new you would expect to pay about £100. Far better than flimsey trainers... Grade 1 means almost unworn. This company (unlike others) does not send out worn out crap. Even their grade 2 is wearable. The company is reliable. I have used them countless times for hunting clothing (cammo). The goretex stuff is particularly good buy. You will NOT find British Army surplus cheaper. |
The latest issue of Adventure Bike Rider magazine has a great review on adventure/touring boots.
