Therese and I used our Trangia twice daily on our 6 months London to Oz back in 1991\92. It is still going strong today. the only problem we had was once in Iran tring to get metho,"spirits" to the locals. they thought that we had a drinking problem!! That was until we pulled the trangia out of our bag.Highly recomemd a trangia. you can even get wizz bang non stick ones . though i think the non stick wouldn.t hold up to well on a long trip.ie the pots and pans

The non stick does last a long time! You only have to protect it during transport from abresion. Put a cloth or someting inbetween.

Steve,
In Scandinavia we had the same problem. Folks wouldn't sell us methanol thinking we where gonna drink it instead of alcohol.
Which places, kinds of shops, did you look around for methanol in Iran?

Pieter.
