New BMW Back Protector

Hello all, I cant seem to locate the new back protector illustrated in the Motorrad 2003 catalogue. my dealer tells me he cant locate one. Can any one help. This back protector doubles as a kidney belt. Looks like useful kit. If i cant locate one has any one any alternative product remembering that Im looking for a protector that doubles as a kidney belt. Thank a million folks.

David, have a look at the excellent products (sturdy backprotectors, complete vests and more) which the Italian company Dainese makes at http://www.dainese.it (you need a fast Internetconnection and a BIG computer for it though - the site isn't very user friendly in my opinion - a catalogue from a Dainese dealer will do much better).
They've been in this business for years. The protector vests are worn by almost all Dakar-riders. We have had these vests for years and they are still perfect. Used them first for travelling in hot countries and now at home all the time also. I can only recommend them again and again. Not cheap, but the best. We wear them underneath a GoreTex or a light cotton shirt or just bare, with a T-shirt underneath. Looks like Ninja Turtle but who cares, we're safe !

They have backprotectors (doubling up as kidney belts) in all sizes and shapes, and if you buy the entire protector vest, you can also zip off the backprotector and wear it seperate, underneath a bike jacket that doesn't have a proper back protector (like most).
You'll love them, I'm sure.

Safe riding,
Trui
