Handlebar Extension Bracket

1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know where I can get a handlebar extension bracket, like the one below, for my XT600E.
I have done a generic search on Google and the only ones I can find are for pedal cycles.
They might be a bit flimsy?

I am looking for one to put my Montana mounting bracket on

Thanks

I will take the massive response as a resounding NO then!

Would be easy to make a heavy duty one with 1/2 inch ally plate and some pipe. OTOH - you might be surprised at the toughness of the cycle stuff. I have used several GPS and phone mounts designed for pedal bikes and they have all been fine on motorcycles.

Well I found one :D:thumbup1:

Got it from Evans Cycles in York for just under £14. Really pleased with it and its sturdy. Multi angle so I can get it on my handlebar under the strengthener bar.

Made by Topeak and does multi diameter, from 22 to 38mm
Max Load is 300g or 10.56lbs

Fits the Montana on really good

Been using this extension for a few month now and I have found it really good.
It does not feel intrusive when you are on the bike and I still get a good view of the GPS when I am on the pegs.
The only problem with it is that once I mount my Montana on to its mounting I can not use the left side of the bracket due to the size of the GPS. Not a fault of the Bracket though.
It will be getting a good work out soon, so we will see how robust it is

The extension is working a treat. both on road and on unpaved roads/tracks. You do however get a bit of vibration when going on the unpaved roads and track but nothing to violent. You can still see the Montana. I just hope it doesn't shake all my Montana insides to bits
Still very happy with it, IMHO a good buy

Thanks for posting the results of your testing :)

Always good to know when something interesting is found - and actually WORKS!

I have only got a few days left on my trip and I can honestly say that this bit of kit has been great, I have had a few offs and been down some bad bumpy ascents, decents and roads and is has worked a treat.
Because of the way it mounts it is easy to see when sat down or stood on the pegs. As for the bit of vibration..it has not been a problem at all and my Montana is still in one piece. I might try and rectify it with a bit of rubber and see how it gets on

Great buy
