Goggles with open face helmet

Hey all. Recently purchased a Modena Cafe open face helmet, along with a pair of Bolle Chrokadesi Safety Goggles. Teamed up they look pretty sharp.

Now, even with the strap tight and loose, the googles do not sit close to my face; they are so finely perched onto the bridge of my nose that if a spider decided to set up shop in the bottom of the rubber they would fall away!

The goggles are held on by a click strap at the back installed onto the helmet, and when not in use rest where the sun peak should be. I do not expect a 100% fit as my face 'sinks' into the helmet.

Is this the case for this style of helmet?
Or should I look at more motorcycle friendly versions like Scott and Oakley?

Any advice anyone?
Thanks.

I wear an open-face helmet with Halcyon goggles, the strap attachments for which stand proud of the eyepieces on little stalks, so the strap fits snugly around the helmet yet the goggles fit snugly on one's face.

I glued MX goggle foam to my Halcyons to leave extra space for my glasses.

So its the foam 'skirt' that is the factor to how well they fit? so a pair of MX goggles will fit better then a pair of army goggles?

anyone bought scott goggles? i like their look.

cheers.

I ahve Scott goggles. They are excellent and not too expensive. And you can get dark lenses for them, which is nice.

Matt :)

I also use Scott goggles and use the model called OTG which stands for Over The Glasses and they work, over glasses, very well.

thanks guys. just bought a pair of oakleys o frames. they look pretty dapper.
i was after the vintage look.

it seems to me there are a couple of rules to abide by when purchasing goggles to fit over any helmet for future answer seekers:

1. where the strap enters the goggle; on MX goggles the strap goes in towards the fron, meaning the goggles sit 'behind' the strap line

2. how big a foam skirt there is, the bigger (deeper) the closer it will sit to your face.

should have discovered this before I bought a pair of 50quid US Army Bolle's. Bugger!
