Front and rear camera

I am sure this has been asked before so am sorry if it is being repeated.

I am after two permanent cameras front and rear of the bike which start recording as soon as you turn the ignition on so I don't have set them up each time I jump on the bike.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions

Hey Most of the cameras these day can be powered by the bike so that is going to be easy and really just depends on the features you want.. Auto turn on??? I dont know? What you will run into is memory issues.. Most (if not all) use cards as their media storage.. so you will have to change them once and a while at least. If you get a couple of HUGE cards you risk losing a lot... but also and maybe more importantly you are going to have many many hours of really boring stuff like you putting your helmet on... Lots of small card mean more changing but less risk of complete loss.. but still lots of editing..

Drifts have 5 -10 min post recording.. so this is my favourite

I'd go for a couple of sj4000 action cams . It's a go pro knock off of comparable quality that sells for about a tenth of the price. The basic model doesn't have WiFi and has a dash cam mode with continuous recording to a memory card, so it erases the oldest footage when the card gets full. Only thing is that you'd have to drill a hole in the waterproof casing to be able to connect a power cable but installation should be straightforward and it comes with a lot of accessories. Look on Chinese shopping sites or probably also Amazon.

Maybe this is what you are looking for:
Motorcycle Camera | Motorcycle Traffic Camera | INNOVV

There are some very positive reviews at youtube about the INNOVV K1
I'm considering buying it as well. :mchappy:

One year further on and I just saw something from China that looks interesting.

It's a set of mirrors, one of which has a small built in forward facing camera , and a second camera to be bolted somewhere facing backwards. The right hand mirror also doubles as a viewing screen.

I would say, just buy a 360 camera and position it in good way, like on a corner so it sees both sides. This gives you maximum freedom.

Regardless of camera type, you want some kind of "dashcam" function were it is recording constantly but only saves it permanently when you push a button.

As always there is a caveat to this, dash cams are all well and dandy providing u ride "lawfully" at all times, otherwise u r just handing evidence to the authorities if u get stopped............ I say that as an ex cop, dash cams and smart phones made my life a lot easier. Just something to consider :innocent:

I've heard some pretty bad things about the reliability of the Innovv, and someone I know had the recorder fail after just a few weeks and the factory refused to replace it.

To be honest I think this is a better bet: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...797d6004dTbsZB
