A buddy of mine was actually shot at in central America several years ago because he was wearing camo. Come to think of it he was in the Army and they were invading Panama in Dec 1989. :eek3:

The whole appearance at borders thing is a tricky one. To be honest I usually rock up to borders in my normal biking gear (which is seriously filthy) and never have any problems. I think a big grin and a freindly attitude are more important.
I don't think anyone expects you to be pristine on a motorcycle. Even my Grizzly Adams beard raised no eyebrows in Eastern Europe or Turkey/Iran.
Although my hair was short, so I avoided the whole dope smoking hippy image!
