Dr. Greg Frazier - 'Sun Chasing' in California

The HU California Travelers meeting is proud to host Dr. Gregory W. Frazier, recognized as “America’s #1 extreme adventure rider.” He has circumnavigated the globe five times, literally riding a myriad of motorcycles to the ends of the earth. After 1,000,000 miles of riding and racing motorcycles, he says, “I’ve not been to Everywhere, but as long as I am still roaming the globe it’s just over the horizon.”

Dr. Greg will present SUN CHASING: RIDING THE WORLD, a documentary film of Dr. Gregory W. Frazier’s five circumnavigations of the world by motorcycle, four times solo and once with a pillion. The film is narrated live by “Dr. Greg,” and filled with tips, tricks and entertaining tales of his adventures and misadventures piloting a wide range of motorcycles ranging from BMW to Kawasaki to Harley-Davidson, with a 1947 Indian Chief and Amazonas thrown into the mix.

For all the details visit the meeting page.

Don't miss this opportunity to spend a weekend on the beautiful Central Coast and meet one of the true legends of adventure travel.

We're very pleased to announce that Peter and Kay Forwood will be presenting the story of their 14 year RTW trip to ALL 193 countries of the world on a Harley-Davidson ElectraGlide - and yes it's still going, it's stock, and it will be there!

Hello all! Been meaning to post here for a while, really looking forward to the meeting! Took a spin by the site with Mike & Sandy back in the Spring and it's a great little facility for the meeting with a great view of the Pacific. More infrastructure than Petrolia, and will certainly be a different experience in that sense, but seems well suited to the HUBB meeting. As others have said some great riding in the neighbourhood too, so many positives! See you all there!

Dual Sport Clinic on Friday

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up -

Bonnie and Andrea of Coach2Ride off-road school in San Diego County are offering a dual sport clinic on Friday morning before the meeting at the Pozo OHV area (about 60mi east of the meeting site).

We took a clinic with them in December, and they do a great job.:funmeterno:

This is an opportunity to get off-road experience and instruction on your own bike - and it's a bargain at $60.

Check out the details on the C2R/HU clinic page.

(The clinic is only open to people who have signed up for the meeting in Cambria, and is limited to 16 riders).

Hi all. Well, surprisingly enough, my boss has given me 4 days off to make the meeting. Cant wait. Ill see you all there.

If anyone is interested in meeting up, Im planning on leaving Lancaster sometime in the morning on Thursday, making my way through Carrizo Plain National Monument, camping there or somewhere just north of it on Thursday night and then getting to the meeting sometime on Friday. No plan other than that, which is itself a very flexible plan, but if anyone is interested maybe we could meet up.

West Africa on a Harley
Tim Bussey

I'm really excited about this meeting. The location looks wonderful, and the weather report for next week looks great. Hope to meet some of you there!

KG6BWS 5 Oct 2011 05:04

I dont know if Im just missing it somewhere on the event page, but is there going to be anything available there in the way of drinks?? I always carry water but that can get a little boring.

Should I bring my soft cooler and drinks or can get them there??

Grant Johnson 5 Oct 2011 06:11

BYOB only folks! Soft drinks I hadn't thought about - will check.

You're going to want to bring your own. Last year several riders had turned their hard panniers into beer coolers. Adventure riders are a clever bunch -- and where beer is concerned, Canadians seem to be among the cleverest! :) (There was a great turnout from our neighbor to the north.)
