Tube punctures - reparation

Hi,
Looking for advise on how to aproach repair of punctured tubes been away from civilazation (desert). It is better to prevent it using thicker tubes, carry a lot of spare tubes and replace as required or seal punctures (how)?
Thanks!

My advice on avoiding flat tires: depart with a set of tires that you can rely on. I have done a trip in Marocco of wich about 1500km's pure on piste. Didn't get one puncture. Still can't believe. Quite often felt the rim of my front tyre hitting the ground.
I was riding on Micheling Deserts. Really think they are worth the money and you have to do really funky stuff to puncture them I think.

Fireboomer is definitely starting from the right place - good tires with lots of rubber are your best preventative.

If you DO get a flat - see the links page - there are a number of links to good tire repair info in the Tech Tips section.

Carry spare tubes and lots of good quality fresh patches and several new tubes of glue. They have a bad habit of drying out just when you need them most.

You are right about the patches drying out.
I vacu-sealed my patches.
