pepper grinder
 

I have a electric pepper grinder powered by 4 AA rechargeable batteries. It is reasonably efficient at producing ground pepper from black corns. I have not tried it on white. Batteries last about four weeks between charges when used daily and charging is completed overnight.

It is quite heavy when half full at about 0.5 Kg and is finnished in see-through plastic with a chromed plastic domed top on which is an on/off button. It is cylindrical and about 2 inches across at the base. When placed on the surface of an oak coffee table it does not scratch but I think that if it were place regularlly on the surface of a car I would need a pepper grinder protection mat.

Does anyone have any information on pepper grinder protection mats? Are they available in the UK or do they need to be imported?

Anyone with any sense can see that it is a proposterous idea to lug the coffee table around with you. Where would you put your cups if you were drinking tea for instance? A far simpler idea would be to replace the metal panels on your car with oak panelling - problem solved!
