yet another model question

My frame number states its a 2000 model xt600e
My engine has 2KF stamped on the cylinder to the left of the carburator.
And the cylinder has 3AJ00 stamped on the bottom left side of the cylinder.
And under the seat theres 4PT stamped on the black airintake-thing..

Is this strange? I thought 2kf 3aj00 and 4pt was different markings for the same thing..has the previous owner interchanged parts?

And also..I dont think the engine number can be found in the framenumber..the numbersequence cant be seen on the framenumber.

Nothing has been changed by previous owners... it's the same for me too, you surely have 4PT on the frame (in the frame number) and 4PT on the engine number, unless engine has been replaced, then you may have a 3TB or 3AJ starting number. 2KF on the head and 3AJ on the barrel is normal.

Thats whats so strange, the engine nr isnt recognized in the framenr.
Enginenr is J302E-011381
And the frame nr. is JYADJ02100001167_

The yamaha workshop said its a year 2000 and its first registered 2001, in Norway, maybe theres something special about the numbering here country-based.. I thought yamaha had registered which frame had what motor mounted so you could find what engine-number was shipped on this frame from the factory..

Sounds normal, my 2003 has 3aj on the cylinder. Its something like, if the parts last changed on the 3aj model, then all bikes after that have that marking on that specifik part. Hope that makes sence.
