Gold plated rocking horse poo. Both mine have now fallen off and I have been looking on eBay for months, but they never come up, and any you do find have the studs broken in the same places. It might be cheaper to get someone to plastic weld the old ones. My plan is to take the metal tangs off the tank and just forget about them. I think the bike looks fine without.

Nah, they're just crap :)

That's the trouble with secondhand parts - the bits that break for you, break for everyone else too. I once had a Triumph Dolomite and the petrol tank rusted through and leaked fumes everywhere - design fault, as the well it was sitting in didn't have a drain hole and it was sitting in water every time it rained. Every single one I found in a scrapyard had the same problem, and I had to spring for a new one.

Also, being an off-roader, bits that stick out are far more likely to be damaged than on a pure road bike, I would have thought. And it will always be the same bits!
