Yamaha XT 125 1982 Need Help
 

Hi I have just acquired a very old Yamaha XT125 from a friend. It has a number of problems. It has been sitting in a shipping container for about 3 years and has had fuel in it so the carburetor was extremely dirty with old fuel everywhere.

I have cleaned the carburetor out and adjusted the fuel and air mixture replaced the secondary jet as it was stuffed and yet it still doesn't idle without the choke or get into the higher rev ranges when it has a load on the engine *in gear and moving* what would be the problem??

Perished carb rubbers? It sounds like an air leak on the intake side to me.
