Yamaha VS Honda

I must say i think the new Honda AT looks best, what do you think?

2017 Honda Africa Twin - review, colors, changes, specs, engine, price

I dont like the look on this super tenere: http://paultan.org/2016/09/29/2017-y...uper-tenere-1/

A high front fender would look great on that S10, the front end looks very amputated.

jjrider 17 Jan 2017 15:00

Both bikes look like heavy miserable street bikes with dirt'ish tires(maybe not the teneree so much)

But anyway , ya the Yami looks too much of a block/stubnosed in the front and massive tank area, sheesh .

xtrock 17 Jan 2017 15:16

The Tenere looks like its already been in a major front crash and the rear is just terrible design.. I would say the AT have more looks from the old bikes, if you watch the Dakar rally you will see that they have no problem using these big bikes in dirt/sand.

jjrider 18 Jan 2017 01:54

True , some also run semi's (those 20ton trucks or whatever they weigh) in the desert without too much issues but what looks more fun: a rally car or one of those trucks ?:innocent:

xtrock 18 Jan 2017 10:25

Yeah i was thinking the same, how about three friends in that giant truck:thumbup1:

xtorange 19 Jan 2017 21:28

Yammy v Honda? No contest, Honda motor co gave it their all at the Dakar and a Yam still finished in front.............

xtrock 19 Jan 2017 23:54

Ye well i asked about design...Most bikes used in the dakar is highly modified and alot run 450ccm, anyway cant compare them with what you buy in store. And who is winning is not the bike brand who decides, riders and team is most importan.

jjrider 20 Jan 2017 12:49

Besides being reliable enough to win , not much has to do with brands in racing at least at pro level. Even in MX or Supercross you'll often see one or 2 guys always on top , and the next year on another brand with same results .Jeremy McGrath back in the 90's was a prime example , he rode for 3 brands, IIRC ,and was always the one to beat.

Bike or Rider ??

KTM somehow has managed to get best riders signed in that's why they win Dakar year after year. Honda was really close this year though, if not that stupid mistake with fueling who knows...
