Yamaha TTR600RE 05 with 800 miles

Hi having trouble with mis fires over running, and backfires.
I have checked coil, removed small filter in carb ,cleaned all jets , checked inlet manifold rubbers, clean petrol, all slides are moving good (checked with mini camera through the air box, clean new filter, new iridium plug and cap. Checked lead from cap to coil taped up with self amalgamating tape. Still the same.
Any ideas, the only thing i can think of is the CDI unit, or TCI unit on this model.
Transistor Controlled Ignition.
Does anyone know how to test this sealed unit, or where to get a replacement part that isn't priced through the roof.
Thanks Chris

I have had several of these, a couple from new. When they are low milage like yours they seem to run hotter. The standard set up seems to make them pop and bang a bit on the overrun, perhaps made worse by the heat. Are you running a non standard pipe? This always makes it pop a bit on standard fueling, is your pipe sealed properly at the joints?

Here you go -> http://www.smokingtailpipes.com/Down...ha_TT600RE.pdf

All the methods of checking the electrics are listed, and the fault finding charts, and anything else you want to know! I was about to remove this from the sie, but I'll leave it a few more weeks so you can download it and asve it locally.

Hi,
The bike is completely standard, including the exhaust.
The only thing i have done is remove the tiny fuel filter in the carb and installed an inline one.
Tried a working TCI unit on today, just the same no difference.
I am going to try another set of carbs and carb rubbers next just in case one of the galleries are block even though i cleaned them as must as i can.
Its like some kind of air mix problem or air leak, the new plug looks a bit light in colour. But i don't know.
Still any ideas guys. HELP!!!!!!!!
Thanks Chris

a bit late maybe ..

sorry for that.
If it is only on overrun (excuse my lack of understanding, but you are braking on the engine and / or letting the engine speed reduce is what I understand), I'd think of the aptly called overrun enricher. It's the thing on th eLH carb that is connected via a little hose to the RH carb, this connection is between butterfly and inlet valve.
This device is supposed to enrich the mix in these situations to avoid the banging and popping.
So, is this thing in good working order? Rubber hose not blocked, little membrane in place and undamaged, fuel supply open?

TTR trouble

Hi,
I have tried another set of carbs on the bike and its working perfectly.
The tiny membrane you mentioned where is located?
I have bought some new rubber pipes and going to replace all. I did find two small rubber bits under the needle seat. I wonder if they were the broken up membrane or just some petrol pipe that has started to break down.
I still have the original carbs that i intend to put back on the bike (as they are like new) i have reset all the factory settings on the carbs. (air ,mixture etc.)
Thanks Chris..

there

If you look from the left of the bike to the carb, you'll see a little cover installed on the 'barrel' where the slide moves up and down, just below the top of that barrel. It is fastened with 2 screws. Behind this cover you'll find the membrane and some other stuff. Clean & inspect, replace where necessary.
