XTZ660 Tyres
Does anyone have a preference for tyres, I would have used Michelin t66's if they were still available but the Avon Distanzias look pretty good for the money. My second choice would be tourances.... My bike is a '99 3YF and I am running battleaxes on it as the previous owner pretty much took whatever he was offered....
I need a clutch lever and engine bars too if anyone can help! Feel free to let me know your thoughts, I remember being blown away with the t66's when I changed to them in 1992 on a brand new xtz that I bought from new.... I think this forum is great and hopefully i will be able to contribute well!!! JAMIE |
Hi Jamie,
I'm running a '96 3YF,and can recomend the Tourances.I find them nice and stable right up to the edges (no chicken strips,ex TL 1000s owner) ! I am running h/duty tubes, and mine didn't need any balancing at all. I think they came as standard on BMW F650's,and as many owners had them swapped from new at the dealers you may be able to pick up some with delivery mileage at good prices. Andy |
Are your tyres just On road stuff?
I`m running Contis Twin duro at the mo. I was surprised how well they grip on the road for a knobbly, |
I'd go for the knobbly tires.
Much more fun outside the tarmac! Michelin T63 and/or Continental TKC80 works fine with me.:wheelchair: |
Thanks a lot for the info guys......:thumbup1:

I've got an N reg (95), and i put some brand new Army Specials, speacially sent from Sweden (I think) to use on my trip around Iceland. They were good on the hard gravelly roads of Iceland, but scared me to death on tarmac (especially when they were new). The good side is they last forever, but really not worth the stress. Hope they wear out soon!:oops2:

Now I'm using Mitas E-09 and it's very good in dirt/mud road... :thumbup1:

As I'm not going to be off road for a while I'm running 100% road tyres.
Avon - Road Riders. They warm up quickly and give great confidence on the tarmac. If you're not going off road why get 60/40's??? |
Avons...vs Bridgstones
