XTZ660 sprockets sizes?

Hi, i have a 1998 XTZ660 and am looking at replacing the chain and spockets. Currently it has the standard 15 front and 45 rear.

has anybody changed the sizes and have found a better setup?

I ride 50/50 on off road, so a good average set up is all i need, i am pretty happy with the current set up..... but am just wondering what others have done and what effect it's had.

Thanks

Hi, I have a xt600e from 2003, but my buddy has a 1992 xtz660, and i gave him a 14 tooth frontsprocket. He said that it change the whole bike (for better)

Try to mess around on Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Gear Ratio Calculator for Sprockets RPM Speed Chain choose bike, model and such, and you can se what different sprockets does to rpm and speed.

I use 15/47 on my 600 for the most of the time, and change a bit up or down depending on what im gonna do. I've used 14/47 for enduro, and 16/45 for building up some tarmac kilometers.

I've got a new chainkit lying around with different sprockes, and 2 joints extra on the chain. The plan is to use 15/47 for everyday, and as a good compromise. Im then able to change for 14/47 for the nasty stuff, and 16/47 for longer trips. Perhaps even carry a xtra CS sprocket on a long trip, for when i get to the fun stuff.

If I were you, I would buy 14/45 or 15/47. They are really close in ratio, so not much difference.
