Xtz 660 wiring loom help needed.

I recently bought a buggy project and the engine and loom were included. 96 xtz 660. I connected the loom up to the engine to see if it would fire but soon discovered there was no spark. I had the earth connected but thought it was dodgy so i undid the tape at the first part of the loom where the earth splices from 1 wire into 3. I got spark. I let everything go and suddenly there was no spark. I have tried this on diffrent occations and 4 time it has sparked ut as soon as i let it go and try it again it stopped.

The loom has been altered by the previous owner which doesnt help. Can anyone tell me how to bypass the sidestand switch as the first time i tried the button in it wouldnt turn over then when i let it out it turned over. Now after all my fiddling it turns over with the button in or out??

I also dont need any of the safety switches or lighting part of it is someone able to tell me what wires i can do away with to simplify my situation.

Any help appriciated

Only advise I can give you is..get a new/unbutchered loom.

You could spend the rest of your life trying to undone someone else's 'modifications'.

I have ordered a replacement. A local guy thinks my cdi might be dodgy. Has anyone had any experiance with carmo electronics? Im thinking to get them to test/repair as i cant find anyone local with a working cdi.
