XTZ 660 capable bike?

Hi,

I've ben on the road on a Honda xl600lm for about 5,5 years. Back in Belgium i started looking for another bike as the Honda is already 21 years old. Although he did the job quiet well. i just bought a Yamaha XTZ 660 last Tuesday. But i hear some different reports on that bike. Has anyone been travelling with it in hard conditions and how did that go? Any comments will be good! Start to think to go for a TT600R maybe.
Hope to hear something!
Thanks!
Bossit.

If your talking about the new tenere it is very capable of doing any touring or off roading that can be thrown at it.

visit this forum to find out the amount an XTR can do and the new tenere will be on the same lines

Not a new XTZ660

Hey,

Excuse me for not mentioning it before but i'm talking about a '93 model. Which isn't the new one of course.
Any experiences from someone?

Cheers!

Don't worry, it is a good bike for rough conditions. Have a look at the Dutch Tenere Association website ---- Dutch TÉNÉRÉ Association-----. Lots of members who have travelled through rough terrain. For example, I have done offroad riding in Italy, France and Spain with it.

It has one technical problem. The crankshaft nut on the right side. It will come loose sooner or later. Fix it by mounting it with locktite and 10% extra torque.

Wear an athletic support and hopefully you will not break your nuts.
