XT600E Speedo Issue?
 

Bit of advice needed guys!

I've got a 2000 XT600E and for some reason the speedometer is now only going up to 80KPH.

Not only that, the needle is then sticking on that figure even when I've halved my speed. Giving a slight tap to the side of the clock then gets it to drop.

Cable seems to be fine, so I'm inclined to think the clock is screwed up. Any suggestions?

If you can carefully take the case apart, you may find a piece of grit or something fouling the works.

Before you destroy housing i would check gearing on the wheel.
