XT600E spark plug black on removal, what to do?

Hi people I have been working on my xt600e and on removing the spark plug to replace it. It is very dark....

Does this mean its running rich/burning oil? If so how do I go about sorting this out?

This can happen if youve just warmed it up. Take it for a proper ride then test it again.

It's 'carbon fouling' but to be fair I haven't had a good blast on it. I will over the next week or so with the new plug in it.

Yeah that was the plan anyway, I have a full service kit inc air filter. So will do it all before I go out on it.

Maybe you overfilled the oil tank. The oil that are much will be let to airfilter and later burned in the engine.
