XT600e rear brake caliper

hi I need a rear brake caliper for a 96 XT600e having no luck finding one someone must have one out there Help

I got one for £40 from ebay. Keep an eye out - they do pop up.

The reason I got it was that the one on my bike has a snapped bleed nipple.

Changing them over is on my list of stuff to do so post back up in a couple of weeks if you haven't found one and don't mind drilling out the bleed nipple.

Thanks for that I did exactly the same. Tried to drill it out and snapped a drill bit in it. Took it to a local engineering firm and was quoted £27 to get it out then I told them I had snapped a drill in it and was told it was not possible to repair. So I will keep looking but it may be a good option to buy yours and get it professionally repaired instead of bodging it up myself. Would you be willing to post it to me.

Regards

Steve

Hi I also had a problem with the bleed nipple breaking , its very difficult to repair without causing damage to the caliper.
There are a few different Yamaha's that use the same caliper I got one from a DT 125.
When I was trying to fix my old caliper I was told I could use a banjo bolt that had the bleed nipple on top so you can bleed the brakes,
I had made a bit of a mess trying to get the old nipple out I was worried one day it might fail and I have no brakes if I left it in and used a different banjo bolt

I also have two rear calipers. 30€ each one.

And many other parts if the five xts I have owned

The rear calipers of the DT125R are an exact fit for the XT I can tell you that the 2002 Yamaha DT125R... check to if other years for the DTR125 all use the same caliper or not! I've done this change myself before when I rebuilt my own rear brake caliper from my XT

And if you're saying that what broke on yours was the head of one of the bolts, just go to a welding shop and they'll take it out easily and probably won't even charge you..
