XT600E front fork oil weight?

Hi all!

Does any of you know what oil weight the XT's front forks use? :confused1:

10w is suitable for your bike

How about for a XT with '02 YZ250 front forks?

I was told on my Yamaha dealer that 2.5w would be enough but I'm a tad skeptical about it... stock YZ front forks are KYB 01 oil... :confused1:

Usual grade's are between 5 - 10w.

Its not uncommon to go up a bit as damping reduces as kit gets older...

Blending (same make/type oil is OK too) if you want 7.5 do 50:50 5 & 10w :thumbup1:

The manufactures grade is a guide & a bit of fine tuning by the "rider" is OK.

10w is stock.

I use 20w and it's much better for me, it feels harder, and doesn't bottom out when i land incorrect.

Uhm.. I think I'm going to return the oil and get some 10w...
haven't opened it yet because I was waiting to get some loctite to do the seals...so it should be fine for a replacement...

Thank all of you for your help! :smartass:
