xt600e exhaust studs
Hi folks,
My downpipes are rusted through on my 2001 xt600e. Luckily the bolts have all come off without any drama but I want to replace the studs and bolts to avoid any future problems. Can anyone point me to a good source of polished stainless downpipes, studs and bolts for my xt600e. I can get yamaha studs and bolts no problem but thought that stainless would be better. What do you think and where can I get them. Thanks for you input, Jack |
This looks good Colector Inox BIG SIZE para Yamaha XT 600 E MOTO CRD
But they used the old bolts... http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/7121/7109copia.jpg |

Thanks
Cheers for the replies folks.
Downpipes looke like a choice between CRD, Motad, KEDO(devil) and Predator. Kedo look nice but they're expensive and they ain't in stock. Into the bargain I read someone saying that they did not come wth a polished finsh. Is this the case? Quite a few folk seem to think that Motad aren't that well made(need bent to fit) and are not a polished finish. Is that true? Predator look nice. Does anyone have them? Are they a good fit and are they polished? Anyone got CRD and are they polished and a good fit? Cheers again folks. Jack (with an Arrow race can) |
hi there i bought some new motad downpipes about 2 years ago for my 1985 43f xt600 and they were a perfect fit , no problems at all , they dont come polished but it is not a hard job to do so , but bear in mind they will discolour as soon as the engine is run to a straw colour they will not stay shiny chrome looking , ive not seen CRD pipes has anyone got pictures of these . i do like the look of the kedo ones , but i got the motad ones at a very good price and like i say they fine . zigzag just seen the picture of the CRD one above must pay more notice ,nice looking pipes zigzag

I just can't see any other downpipes beating the Kedo's Devil downpipes including shipping!
I got mine for 150 or 160 € shipped to the Azores! Vando beer |

I've gone for the Kedo header pipes. The liquorice tipped tha balance.
Thanks again for the advice. |
Awesome choice :P
I love mine! Although that shinny stainless color goes away fast if oil and dirt get on it if you don't properly clean it.. Good luck! Vando :cool4: |

The pipes were perfect & the liquorice was just a bonus. :thumbup1: http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...20Porn%203.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...20Porn%204.jpg We (Geoff & myself) have matched them up to GSXR 1000 cans, very nice. http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...20pipe%201.JPG http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...20pipe%202.JPG http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...20pipe%204.JPG http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...20pipe%205.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/%7Emezo/...0Bike%2011.jpg Mezo. |
What's that nut for? :confused1: aesthetics?
It looks good right now! I do suggest you get some stainless steel cleaning solvent ---similar to those soaps that have "sand" in them so we can clean grease on the hands--- because when dirt and oils and whatever else catches on the downpipes it will turn them weird looking unless you clean'em. Mine did.. Vando beer |
Its for a lambdaprobe-thingy.
Everyone thats anybody got it :thumbup1: Mine is located in almost the same spot as Mezo's. (and mezo, the stuff about the candy looking as a gasket is just hillarious ) http://tenere.dk/forumnew/uploads/987/DSC01092.jpg |
Your bike looks great mate. I'm still waiting for my headers to be shipped but I'm not in a major rush.
Kedo charged a lot less to ship them to Scotland than an English based company was wanting for an alternative make. C'mon the liquorice! |
LOol!
I was also kinda wondering what the "candy" was when I got my downpipes lol I think they're still in the box  lambdaprobe Don't need one.. my mechanic has one similar that has to be sticked on to the end of the can. Still, Jens... what's the average ratio you get on your bike through the revs? Vando beer |
Trying to tune it in around 13:1 ish, with a slightly higher rating for cruice.
I have vacation for a week now, so its carb time :scooter: |
Kedo still can't set a date for the downpipes to be stocked so I've had to give up and order a set of Motad ones. Bit of a bummer but Kedo have been up front, honest and easy to deal with.
I was going to order from Wemoto as their service is great but I've just found downpipes a fair bit cheaper at Raw Power Motorcycles(Trading as LM spares). Has anyone used this company before? Cheers, Jack |
Shame you couldn't wait for the next batch of Devils to be knocked up, they say it may take a while & then two weeks later they are shipping.
The Motad ones have to many joins for my liking, but at least you still get the liquorice to munch on ordering with Kedo. Mezo. |
Haa... I got liquorice and gummi bears with mine.....:cool4:
