XT600e DJ02 Alu Wheels?

Anyone know what (if any) models of XT600e came with aluminium wheels?

My DJ02 has a pair but I do not think they are OEM.

I'd bet they're not OEM. Have a close look, somewhere there might be evidence of a manufacturer.
Post a photo - someone might recognize the pattern, and you can also do a reverse image search on google.
Good luck!

The later xt600e usually came with steel rims, but the wheels off the 1990s xtz660 tenere are ally and a direct swap, exact same hubs, so you may have a bike with 660 tenere rims which is what I did to mine years ago when the steel rims were knackered.

There may have been a special version in some country with ally rims, but cant remember.

The wheels have the following markings:

D.I.D Japan 96 23 19

D.I.D Japan 96 08 09

J 21x1.85 4 91 dot

J 17x2.75 3 91 DOT

The seller also said he thought the forks and brake were from a Tenere - are there markings on the forks to identify? They are 41mm stanchions and seem longer than standard as they are dropped in the top yoke by about 1".

could be also TT600 stuff

Dont quote me on this, but I think the forks on the 90s 660 tenere were more or less the same at the later xt600e, maybe a different spring rate, they certainly had the same brakes. I think possibly the only external difference is that the tenere forks will have some mounting points for the disk guard and the xt600e did not. xt600 forks are 41mm.
