XT600E adjustable camshaft sprocket
Hi guys!
Do anyone know of any adjustable cam sprocket for the XT600 engine? I looked an some known companys' catalogs but nothing:( |
why adjustable? that should be strong part doubt the adjustable would last long...I'm supposing it's the camshaft your talking about....

I would like to "play" a little with my cam timing.
Why are you saying that it won't last...? A lot of cars and bikes are using adjustable cam sprockets, without any problem... |
I am guessing that as the XT600 uses a fundamentally de-tuned engine no-one has bothered producing an adjustable camshaft sprocket for it - all the ones I have come across have been in racing applications.
Just had a quick look and couldn't find any for a single apart from a crf450, a machine that gets raced a lot..... |
I think the adjustable sprockets would apply more to engines with separate intake and exhaust cams so you can play with advance, and overlap. On a single cam you would pretty much be advancing or retding the cam timing.

I'm searching for the adj. sprocket, because i'm going to install a stage 2 or 3 cam (280o duration, 10+mm lift) and i thought that it will be nice to have some 5o adjustment of the cam timing, for better results on the dyno. |
I'm thinking less that one tooth, usually less than 5 degrees if I recall.

High-lift cams on an XT???
Please see my previous comments about turd polishing (Titanium springs on an XT thread) I do as always have my tongue in my cheek and a grin on my face. Doesn't come across well in text form..... |
