I have been down the expensive route of re-sculpting and gel pads with little benefit.

I now use an airhawk seat which although not cheap (although the budget models are around £50) has done four years of comfortable riding and the best part is that it lifts off and swaps from bike to bike so I can use it on any of my vehicles. It also makes a great cushion when using a pannier as a camp seat.
