xt600e 02 ....4pt needing stuff

hi guys....im new to the xt600 but not the 660..i have had a few xt660`s the new ones an know ma way around them but , as i said,, im new to the 600e, which i have just now..

ma question is this... i want to be able tae pull an odd wheelie..an be able to go off road a bit, so what size of front sprock do you recomend, an where will i get one in the uk.. am in Scotland

also id like to jack up if possible the back end,, to make it that we bit higher,,as am 6`5".. it does feel ok,, but could do with it up a bit..again where wil i find dogbones,, i think ye call them, ?

also can ye fit any 17 inch wheel fae any xt600 into the swingarm in mine 02 xt600...

as above,, my bike is a 02, its boastin 11k miles on it.. rides faultless other than it has a few parps bangs on putts from the Micron pipe thats fitted... on the left side N/S of th carb theres a wee screw inside a spring,, does that control the idle... as mine idles at around 1500 revs,, thought that was a bit high... thanks guys............cheers bama3

as per the front sprock.. i dont need top end speed, the 75/80 does me fine.. id rather have low down power an grunt,

Try a 14 sprocet, just get it from ebay if you dont have a local source. Mine will put the frontwheel up in the air with the stock 15 tho (1st gear)

As for dogbones.... "heckhöheregung" on the german ebay should hep you, they are there from time to time and is specifik to out xt600's so stuff from other bikes wont fit.

Yup that sounds like the idle adjuster screw. Mine (2003) idles at about 1500 when hot. I think this is normal. I did try reducing the idle but found it was pretty lumpy when started up from cold and sometimes cut out. Give it a twist though and see what happens, can't do any harm.

Matt :)

Jens,, any bike will lift in 1st,, I half clutch in second,, thats the way i usually get the wheel up,, as 1st is too fierce,, i can do wheelies. nae bother .. but a cant get it up wi ma stad set up .. thats why a want a 14......i could go up an thru the box on am xt660R or X....
