XT600 weird carb problem
 

Greetings fellow xt owners!
Please help me figure this one out.

I drive a '94 artesia with 2003 600 3tb motor,carbs,etc from a total'ed bike.
A few days ago it stalled like it would run out of gas.
I made it home,took the carbs out to find huge amounts of rust inside.
Carb was thoroughly cleaned and inspected for blocked passages etc.
The problem was not cured so today i went for round 2.
Round 2 included cleaning/inspection of the carb again,clean the fuel switch(very dirty)empty the gas tank,fresh gas,new tube and a gas filter.
The bike runs fine for 200 meters then starves and dies.one minute later runs for another 200 meters etc.

When you cleaned the carbs did you remove the float valve and clean the tiny mesh filter underneath it?

It is often overlooked.

Sounds like you need to fix the gastank, and use an inline fuel filter.

Cleaning the tiny mesh filter along with a new gas filter did the job.
