Glad we could help!
Plus, don't throw your old stator away, it can be rewound and you'll get to have a spare!

i am in serious trouble.
I have an xt600e 96'a that's shorts the fuse even with the kill switch and the key in the off position.
Everything is switched off but when i try to replace the fuse it blows immediately.
tips anyone?

You have a pinched wire or a scraped wire that exposed the insulation(correction "internal wire"). Normally the battery red wire with the fuse goes to the fuse then goes to the ignition switch. I would first unplug the ignition switch which will isolate the battery from the rest of the circuits. Replace the fuse and see if it blows. If it does then you need to inspect the harness front to back. Start at the back part from the battery and work towards the harness. If it is not grounding out then go to he front where the wires exit the harness and find the red wire. Trace it to the Ignition plug. If that is clear then the problem must be inside the harness. Make sure you have isolated the red wire at the front end of the harness. If your fuses are still blowing, then the short circuit is inside the harness. It is fairly easy to untape it and inspect the red wire all the way back. Look for any corrosion, blue corrosion on exposed copper or a bulge in the insulation. If you find a bulge, carefully cut the insulation to expose the wires at that point. If it is all corroded you will need to cut out the corroded part and reconnect. Best if it is soldered and insulated with heat shrink tubing or use a good grade of black tape. Check again. Plug everything in before re wrapping the harness. This will take diligence on your part but this is not a hard problem to find.

Let us know what you find so others can learn from your experience.
