XT600 Tenere 1VJ no spark ?
 

Hello

I have a XT600 Tenere 1VJ.
It was left in the garage for 4 months and now wont start.
The problem is it wont spark at all.
I have changed the CDI and the coil and plug....still nothing
I have taken all the electrics apart, cleaned etc and still nothing.
Today I had a look at the generator which a lot of the contacts seem to have burn on oil.
Any ideas welcome because I would love to get the bike going again !

Make sure the battery is fully charged up.Check the kill switch on the handlebar. Sometimes the wires corrode on the inside and stay in the 'kill' position. Basic troubleshooting. If you have to get into the magneto then you'll need meters to test the windings and someone to interpret them. Id start with the small stuff first. have fun

hi there if the sidestand switch is still fitted it may be faulty your best bet is to disconect it and join the two wirers in the loom to bypass it these switches are bad news and go faulty , even if they work they can sap power if they are a little iffy. also as sugested the kill switch, so get the multimeter out and start probing .good luck zigzag
