XT600 Tenere (1985) Silencer & Downpipe advise
 

Whislt repairing a small hole on the downpipes of my 1985 (55W) Tenere, I have now found another hole in the silencer and think it's time to change both.
I am now thinking of getting a complete Stainless Steel system.
Both Motad and Devil make stainless steel downpipes however Motad are a lot cheaper but I believe the Devil are a larger bore and so give better performance. Any advice?

Also, both Laser and Arrow make Stainless silencers (Arrow list from 1986 models on but I think it may be a bracket that needs modifying). Again any advise would be great.

hi foggie ive just bought motad down pipes the fit was good and so far all seems well. i got them from ( busters ) in swansea, in there cataloge thay are 100-110 pounds i think . i put xt600 stainless downpipes in to goggle and a MCN add had them at 75 pounds to my door from busters a bit odd when motad themselves sell them for 110 i think. i bought them about 10 weeks ago so mybe the offer is still on . zigzag:thumbup1:

hi foggie just checked, price is now 100 pounds inc postage still a good price, thay have a 3 year warranty as well. The kedo ones look very nice but are a lot more money with the euro going bad and i dont think we have a british distributer for there parts or dos some one know different ? zigzag:thumbup1:

My 600E came with an Arrow silencer, which is pretty good - stainless, reasonable size and a good sound. It doesn't have the rearmost frame mounting, though, which I believe the OEM silencers had, to stiffen up the rear of the frame. Perhaps only an issue if you are considering heavy loads and rough usage.

Hi, I have a CRD Stainless header pipe and Arrow silencer fitted to my 1988 3Aj Tenere (will fit your model). These look good, fit perfect and sound lively but not too loud.

I haven't heard of CRD before. Where did you get that from?

Also, I read elsewhere on this forum that the TT600 had stainless downpipes that also fit. Anyone know what year to look for.

anyway stainless are on tt600s\tt600e 1993-1998, tt600r\tt600re 1998-2005

I've seen these headers in the flesh and they look really good - next time I see zigzag I'm bringing my tool kit and having them when he isn't looking:thumbup1:
