XT600 newbie - stator compatibility?
 

Hi all,
just bought my first XT600 (1984, US model), although I have several XT500s which are my particular favorite. Anyway, the stator needs replacing and these seem to be thin on the ground. Can anyone tell me whether later model stators are backward compatible? Also, is there a good source for a new or used replacement? I'm in Hawaii which makes the rewind option a bit more difficult...

Only the '84-'89 kicker models will work on your bike , the size changed along with a change in ignition so wound different.
