XT600
 

I am thinking about buying a XT600 aprox year 95, and wish to fit a larger fuel tank, perhaps a Tenere (29litre), would anybody be able to assist, ie will it fit, what sort of modifications will be required?.

difficult project.
needs welding on the frame or special adapters to mount the tank.
main problem is the acces to the oil tank.
old teneres have a seperate oil tank
the original seat won't fit, you need the old one. again, special adapters for fixing nessecary.
how will you manage to get a tank and a seat?
they are very hard to find.
better look for an acerbis tank. they carry about 22-24 ltrs which isn't so bad. these tanks fit without modification and you can get them easily second-hand (ebay).
