XT 600 spare parts(world wide) age matters?
 

Hello, I did make the final choise...wich bike........Yes : XT 600 it will be:funmeteryes:

My question: If, chosing a '93 bike: will I have more problems to find spare parts than a for 2003 model( for example) ?
Where to find spare parts and how to order them when on the road ?

The relevant parts (engine, wheels, chains, etc) are still the same or similar. No worries there.
You might have difficulty in finding the cosmetic items, but well, that will not be a party stopper while on the road?

Parts logistics on the road: best to have a friend at home that can send you parts to wherever you are. Depending on location, budget, etc you'll have to choose the best way to order and get it to you.
But, amazingly litttle goes wrong that really stops you.

is any clutch, bold... on any XT the same? ( the engine is my greatest worry)

Yes, what would that mean...
 

That in some cases there is 'upwards compatibility', meaning that parts from older models fit newer models, 'downwards compatibility', so parts from newer models fit older ones and often, on XT's and clones, the parts are just the same.
You're Belgian, so assuming you understand some German, take a look at the KEDO catalogue, KEDO - Performance Products, it has lots of tables indicating which parts are interchangable between model years.

Further, the only thing I have not been able to get in my XT years (since 2001) is a carb needle. The rest is all readily available.

I believe Yamaha still make and stock parts for the older XT's.

Iv never had a problem on my older 86 XT for parts although they are not cheap.

XT forever...
