xt 600 43f coil specs?
 
hi all

Has anyone got the tolorences for the coil on a 1986 xt600 43f model please?
I suspect my coil is no good but would like to make sure before spending any cash.
any help much appreciated

Hi Dave.....

Primary Coil Resistance 3.4-4.6 Ohms @ 20Degrees C or 68 Farenheight
Secondary Windings 10.4-15.6 Ohms @ Ditto

Dave, for first value do not forget to test your cables readings without coil, and subtract this value from coil readings . I made this error first time... so my coil was inside range but only because i did not subtract cables resistance.

I cant actually take the wire off but measuring a similar length of wire would give the same resistance reading as wire connected to coil?

When i heat up the coil or tap on it the readings change, is this a sign that it's knackered?
